Zutaten

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • salt · to taste
  • black pepper · to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour · for dredging
  • 3 1/2 tbsp butter · divided; or substitute 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves · minced or thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup honey · maple syrup can be substituted
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • chives · fresh, chopped, for garnish

Zubereitung

  1. 1

    Season the Chicken

Season all 3 chicken breasts generously on both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Dredge in Flour

Place 60 g (about 1/4 cup) of flour in a shallow dish. Coat each chicken breast in the flour and shake off any excess so only a thin, even layer remains.

  3. 3

    Sear the Chicken

Melt 3 tbsp of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the flour-coated chicken breasts and fry over medium heat for 5-6 minutes until the bottom side is golden brown.

  4. 4

    Flip and Add Garlic

Flip each chicken breast and fry the other side for 4 minutes. Add the remaining 1/2 tbsp of butter to the pan, then add the 4 cloves of garlic and stir briefly to coat in the butter.

  5. 5

    Make the Glaze

Pour in 90 g of honey, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, spooning the sauce over the chicken occasionally, until the sauce has slightly thickened and coats the chicken in a glossy glaze.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped chives. Serve immediately.
