Turkey Sandwich
Stacked deli turkey with crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and creamy mayo on soft bread — simple and satisfying.
5 min1 servings
Ingredients
- 2 piece sandwich bread · white, wheat, or sourdough
- 4 oz deli-sliced turkey breast · about 4-5 slices
- 1 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp yellow or Dijon mustard · optional
- 1 piece romaine or iceberg lettuce · one large leaf
- 2 piece tomato · sliced 1/4-inch thick
- 1 piece American or Swiss cheese · one slice, optional
- salt and black pepper · to taste
Directions
- 1
Spread the condiments
Lay both slices of bread flat. Spread mayonnaise evenly across one slice all the way to the edges. Spread mustard on the other slice if using.
- 2
Layer the turkey
Fold or stack the deli turkey slices onto the mayo side of the bread, building them up in loose folds so the sandwich feels full and generous.
- 3
Add cheese, tomato, and lettuce
Place the cheese slice over the turkey if using. Lay the tomato slices on top and season them lightly with salt and pepper. Add the lettuce leaf last so it stays crisp.
- 4
Close and cut
Press the mustard slice of bread on top. Cut the sandwich diagonally in half with a sharp knife to expose the layers, and serve immediately.
