Beef Tacos
Savory seasoned ground beef tucked into crispy corn shells and topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef · 80/20 blend
- 1 oz taco seasoning · packet, store-bought or equivalent homemade blend
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 piece hard taco shells · corn or flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup salsa · mild or medium
Directions
- 1
Brown the beef
Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it is fully browned and no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
- 2
Season the meat
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the liquid reduces and the sauce thickens and coats the beef.

Warm the shells
Heat the hard taco shells according to the package directions, either by microwaving them for 15 seconds or baking them in the oven at 350 degrees for 3 to 5 minutes until warm and crisp.

Assemble the tacos
Spoon the seasoned beef into the bottom of each warm shell. Top generously with shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, and salsa.
