Beef Stir-Fry
Tender sliced beef and crisp vegetables tossed in a rich, savory, and slightly sweet garlic-ginger sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lb flank steak · thinly sliced against the grain
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 clove garlic · minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger · grated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 piece bell peppers · sliced
- 2 cup broccoli florets
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Directions
- 1
Mix the sauce
Whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small bowl until smooth.
- 2
Sear the beef
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet for this one-pan meal over high heat. Add the sliced beef in a single layer and cook until browned, about 3 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- 3
Cook the vegetables
Add the sliced bell peppers and broccoli florets to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are crisp-tender, about 4 minutes.
- 4
Combine and thicken
Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce mixture over everything and toss to combine. Cook for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients.
- 5
Finish and serve
Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the sesame oil. Serve immediately.
